A house with history — and a whole lot of heart
Family-owned and run for three generations in Val Gardena, in the Italian Dolomites
What Konrad and Marianne Nocker began in 1957 as a modest guesthouse in Ortisei is now a living family home, passed down through three generations.
Since 2000, their daughter Sigrid and her husband Markus have been running Stua Catores, and in recent years, their children Mara and Noah have become a firm part of the team, too. Four people, four strengths: Sigrid, the warm soul of the house. Markus, the chef who cooks with heart. Noah, the wine and mountain expert. Mara, with her sunny nature and an eye for beauty in every last detail.
The result is a family-run hotel where tradition and modernity are not opposites, they belong together. The traditional Stuben (wood-panelled dining rooms) are perfectly complemented by the new guest rooms and the new wellness and fitness area.
What endures is the spirit of the house: personal, warm, and genuine.
